5 Things You Should Know Before You Hire A Professional Cleaner

Do you ever feel like you don’t have any time to yourself when you get in at night? As soon as everyone has finished their dinner you probably have to spend the rest of the night cleaning up. You should think about hiring a cleaner because it would make your life much easier.

From now on you could relax because you know there is someone to take care of all your chores. Just remember it’s not that simple and there are a few things you need to keep in mind which we’re going to go over right now.

Make sure you have the proper equipment

Have you ever tried to clean a kitchen floor without a mop before? You would have to get down on your hands and knees to scrub it. If your cleaner comes in and there is no equipment they won’t be able to do anything, or even if they do it won’t be enjoyable. You should hopefully have everything already, but make sure it’s in working order. When your cleaner starts work they can always speak to you if they need something you don’t already have.

Don’t expect miracles

You wouldn’t believe how high some people’s expectations are. They hire a cleaner for a few hours per week and they expect their entire home to be spotless. They expect the wooden surfaces to be so clean that they can see their face in the reflection. You know how long it takes to clean a house from top to bottom, so try to have reasonable expectations. It’s okay to hire someone for a few hours per week, but they will only be able to clean a few rooms.

Supply the cleaning products

You need to go out and make sure you have cleaning products available for the cleaner to use. Don’t expect them to bring their own because they might not. How will they know if you’re allergic to any particular product? You might only want them to use organic products, or you might even want them to use a particular brand. If they carried enough products to please everyone they wouldn’t be able to drive to your home because there would be no room in their car.

You’re not employing a handyman

What would you say if your boss walked up to you and asked you to clean their car? I already know you would be very angry, unless of course you worked at a carwash. You can’t hire someone to carry out a certain job then expect them to do something else. Some people seem to think a cleaner should be able to do anything around the home. If you want someone to wash your clothes or cook your lunch you will need to hire someone else.

Help them out a little.

Just because you hire someone to clean your home doesn’t mean you are banned from doing anything to help them out. If you don’t leave the dishes to soak in water once they have been used it will take someone ages to scrub them clean again. If everything is a mess they will be able to tidy it up, but you can’t expect them to put everything back in its right place. You should keep on top of things and let the cleaner concentrate on dusting and vacuuming.

You know you want to.

If you have any extra money available you should try hiring someone for a few weeks and you’ll soon realize how great it is. You will have a lot more time on your hands and you can do anything you want. If you would prefer to do everything yourself you just need to tell them not to come back.
