Hairless hamster has tiny sweater made just for her

Winter is coming and this teeny tiny hamster is fully prepared!

One-year-old Silky is a female hamster that was born hairless due to a genetic mutation. Although this makes Silky super special, it can also make her pretty cold at times.

Thanks to a very kind staffer at the Oregon Humane Society who noticed Silky shivering in her cage, she is now the proud new owner of a cute sweater, crocheted just for her!

Silky came to the humane society when her family gave her up after finding out they had to move and staffers quickly fell in love with her.

Silky only wears her fitted white sweater for special occasions. The rest of the time she is “au naturale,” according to the humane society.

Silky obviously gets cold and needs to be kept in a heated environment, especially during the winter. She also need a high protein diet.

If you think she’s cute, Silky is available for adoption this week. They’ll probably even throw in the adorable sweater for free!
